NOT AVAILABLE ONLINE?!

Hello, everyone. Sorry it has been a while, but I have just recently returned from a small vacation and was unable to post during my trip. I felt a little uncomfortable being away from my computer for so long, even with my iPhone at the ready. It seems that there is life outside of the Internet, but who cares when I can do everything (at one point it was school, work, AND shopping) from the safety and comfort of my very own home?! Although in hindsight, tweeting and keeping up with fashion week while going 80mph on the i-5 probably wasn't the best idea. I doubt that is how all the road kill ended up dead, but what a waste of furs! (JUST KIDDING, PLEASE CONTINUE READING).

Getting cut off from the Internet hurts, but not nearly as much as when you finally log on and discover that what you want is not available online. The elusive limited edition products from your favorite brands can give reason to working so hard, and then have you waiting all night for the product to go live because there is nothing worse than seeing SOMEONE ELSE turning it out on StreetPeeper, JAK AND JIL, or whatever daily you happen to subscribe to.


The most painful is when something, especially a limited edition something, is not available online. That is pretty much just a SOL, "the world isn't fair" type situation when you don't live in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, London, or Milan. However, THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE SITUATIONS. The Opening Ceremony and Levi's Collaboration bore more fruit than I ever imagined when I was recently informed of their shoes. The vibrant footwear includes the traditional OC desert boot, fabricated in the colors of the collaboration corduroy. But beware, they are NOT AVAILABLE ONLINE. Another score for SF, the OC x Levi's Desert Boot are only available at the Levi's Flagship store in San Francisco's Union Square or at the OC store in New York. High fives to my fellow Bay Area connoisseurs on this rare exclusive, and happy hunting to everyone else!

An Opening Ceremony

The OPENING CEREMONY X LEVI'S Collaboration party was a wonderful night in San Francisco. A much needed gathering of creatives, I was pleasantly surprised by the crowd of well-dressed, non-pretentious people. It was exciting to discover a new legion of movers and shakers within the 7x7, amongst a sea of the friendly faces I am happy to have known for so long.

The OC X Levi's collection consists of a variety of separates in a charming selection of spring colors, fabricated in corduroy; a marriage of forward thinking and vintage Americana. I am particularly fond of the lavender hue that I have been itching to wear in Spring since Winter! Levi's is known all over the world for quality denim and trusted cuts. It is an established and respected brand that has evolved from an original idea. From that perspective, a collaboration between Levi's and Opening Ceremony, a boutique that is a platform for emerging talent from all over the world, seems so natural.


The party was quite the soiree. One thing I love about San Francisco events is the comfort of knowing that you will inevitably run into a friend. Bumping elbows with DJs, bloggers, and industry heavy weights is even more fun when amplified by an open bar, smores, and good company. And as always, I love a good dance floor. Local band Wallpaper., whom I previously posted about, played a great set that was followed by nostalgic jams from the 1990's, courtesy of DJ Jeffrey Paradise. It was a strange feeling to be dancing and drinking around all the merchandise! I went in the next day with my shopping list, surrounded by unsuspecting tourists who have no clue as to how much fun that I (and all the hungover employees) had the previous night.

SF really needed something like this. I am glad to see we are moving forward, and I hope to see more collaborations, establishments, and events like this in the near future. A special thanks to Ava Berlin. Looks from the collection to follow. XO!

Rodarte Pour Homme

I love it when forward designers like Kate and Laura Milleavy, the sisters behind the prêt-à-porter powerhouse Rodarte, release menswear. Rodarte was well known by the industry and has slowly but surely become a household name with the masses after a successful launch for Target's GO International line. The loose knit seen in the womenswear has become a signature look for the brand.

It pleases me to see their signature knits for men. I am constantly yearning for a wearable, male version to so many collections that are just as forward and relevant as their female counterparts. When Rodarte released an affordably chic line for Target, I had finally had enough! But with the release of the unmistakably Rodarte men's knitwear, I think we were thrown a bone.
