Sartorial Cowboy

Photos from The Fashionisto

I do love a Japanese cowboy. Check out this preview for Ato's Fall/Winter 2011 collection starring Daisuke Ueda and Sen Mitsuji. Total babes! The romantic silhouettes are very French, but the style and design is very Japanese. I think that sort of innovation is why great Japanese designers choose to show at Paris Fashion Week. Someone get me a cummerbund, a vest, and a ten gallon hat. Holler. Check out the rest of the preview here.

Spring Palette

Callum Turner by Esteban Palazuelos - Photos from The Fashionisto

Here comes the rain again. I cannot wait for consistent sun, but lately that seems like too much to ask for from San Francisco. I still love this city. Time to try out my new boots! Let's hope I don't break my ankles though. You will see what I mean.

This shoot is perfect for how I am feeling: I just want to wear Spring, but outside everything looks too wet!

3 , 2 , 1 Launch

A snapshot of the online store's opening screen

Exciting news! For those of you who have lusted after the wondrous wears of Patrik Ervell, but have the sad luck of living in a city not included in his stockists, then your time has come! Patrik Ervell is now available online through the official website. Now is your chance to snag the goodies straight from the source. Upon the launch of Ervell's e-commerce, you are greeted by a set of handsome models as they tousle their hair and fidget with their zippers, buttons, and pockets - an absolute mood setter for the brand built for boyish charms - and just in time for Spring. But walk, don't run, because it seems that the store is having technical difficulties. Either the coders are getting a talking to, or an exuberant amount of hungry fans are crashing the site.

UPDATE: It's back online! Peep the moving models :)

Unzip Him to Start

Those Europeans, they can sex up anything... including Wranglers? When I think of Wrangler I think of unflattering jeans worn by WAL-MART victims and the like. Unless you have some sort of cowboy or denim fetish you probably wont find Wranglers sexy, much less consider them one of your favorite denim brands. But there is a definite re-branding initiative taking place in the European market. The emphasis placed on heritage and quality products is a large trend this season that proves beneficial to a brand like Wrangler. The vintage American angle works, but I think that Levi's has alreadyly dominated the U.S. market (and certainly a good portion of the rest of the world). Launching this collection in Europe is a smart move for Wrangler. The U.S. clothing collections and website remain conservative and practical in design, while the European product and marketing are modern and provocative.

The Wrangler Blue Bell Jeans Collection website showcases the collection by allowing users to control a model with the click or drag of the mouse: Undress him, tug him back and forth, send him flying across the screen. If you cannot appreciate ripping the shirt off of male models, then get into the fresh concept and design of the website that was featured as The Favorite Website Awards site of the month. This is an excellent, memorable way to see how the clothes move in real life from all angles. The Blue Bell Jeans Collection consists of quality classics including shirts, jackets, and of course denim. Check out the collection on the European website.

Burberry Ad Campaign SS2010

Dear Mario Testino and Christopher Bailey,

I love your work. Please hire me as [whatever you need me to be] so that I may get a glimpse as to how you two do what you do:

Also, please tell Emma Watson to give me all her unwanted swag be my best friend and Alex Watson to call me.

Love,
JPH

The Spring/Summer 2010 Ad Campaigns for Burberry (photographed by Mario Testino) were released today. The campaign, starring Emma Watson, George Craig, and Alex Watson, features clothing from the Bruberry Prorsum, London, and Brit lines. The iconic check and trench colors are obviously present, but I love the hint of pastels in the lighting that are reminiscent of the colors shown on the runway. George and Emma, once again, play the "Bad Boy/Good Girl" combo. A perfect fit if you ask me. I love the twisted looks from Prorsum and the fresh, clean looks of London and Brit. Plus, YOU KNOW I LOVE ME A CINCHED WAIST WITH A GIANT HANDBAG OR FANCY CLUTCH! Burberry has gotten a major face lift, all deliciously classic but modern, and courtesy of Christopher Bailey.

Printed Goodness

I am excited for Givenchy's new ad campaigns. Not only do they depict the amazing SS2010 collection, but it is a sign that soon all of my studded gladiator, printed man-tight dreams are about to come true! It is another sign of my new found love for prints.
