Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus! How generous of you to celebrate by having everyone exchange gifts! Here is a full frontal of my (fashion related) holiday loot. The Speedy, literature, and Spa certificate were gifts. The rest were gifts to myself. I will not deny that I shop a lot. In fact, I can never really pass up a good sale. Christmas brings family memories, cold weather, and the best darn deals on designer goods ever! I noticed a few trends on my wishlists this holiday season that will probably forecast my look for the new year.


There seems to be a growing number of patterned shirts and jumpers in my closet, particularly in white and blue hues. This comes somewhat as a surprise, seeing as I swore by T-shirts and black-and-white for a very long time. I suppose graduating to a more mature look involves more tailored pieces and skillful use of color. Besides, I adore the polishing a sharp collar can add to an outfit.

As my bag collection continues to grow, so does my fashion library. I received The Sartorialist book and Bringing Home the Birkin, both of which were on a wishlist to my partner. Scott Schuman's blog has served as an inspiration to many in fashion. I regret missing his visit to San Francisco, but at least I have his book. Bringing Home the Birkin is also an interesting read for two reasons: 1) Any strategy and inspiration for getting the holy grail of handbags is a good thing and 2) Gay love and fashion is an entertaining mix (to me anyway). Finally, the Teen Vogue Handbook is something I wish I had in college. It serves as an outline for breaking into the industry. Reading it now is insightful, but I think the post-graduate crisis is still in effect.

I also received the Real Simple: Solutions book. I haven't had time to read it through, but flipping through it I can tell that it is going to be handy! I need storage solutions for my closet and my entire home (which are slowly becoming the same thing aka instant New Year's resolution). I cannot wait for next year. I am thankful for my family, my partner, my health, and my friends. And my wardrobe is one really really really awesome perk too!
